For 137 years\, the Osterhout Free Library has served the residents of Wilkes-Barre and its surrounding communities in Luzerne County. We invite you to support your public library by attending the 22nd Annual Gala and Auction: Marrakech in the Moonlight\, which will take place on Friday\, August 28\, 2026 from 6PM - 11PM at the Westmoreland Club.
Through books\, ideas\, history\, and imagination\, the library opens doors to places we&rsquo\;ve never \;been\, cultures we&rsquo\;ve yet to experience\, and perspectives that shape how we see the world. \;In many ways\, the Osterhout is our passport &mdash\; inviting us to explore\, to learn\, and to connect far \;beyond our own backyard.
And just like Marrakech &mdash\; rich in culture\, vibrant in spirit\, and rooted in history &mdash\; this library \;is a place where stories come alive and where discovery never ends.
