International Women's Day Event!
We invite you to a Virtual International Women's Day event in collaboration with Dress for Success of Luzerne County on International Women's Day, March 8th 2021. Join us for a virtual event to celebrate women in our community, learn about the Women In Power campaign, and hear from Aliza Green!

Aliza is a chef, newspaper and magazine food columnist, television and print food stylist, cookbook author, food consultant, caterer, and culinary tour leader. On International Women's Day, pioneering woman chef and author Aliza Green will talk about the ups and downs of her dynamic and varied career. She will share some of the lessons she's learned along the way to help women in their struggle to find satisfying and well-paid work.  


Aliza Green is a pioneering woman chef who helped make the city of Philadelphia a premier dining destination. She is the author of fifteen cookbooks including Making Artisan Pasta, The Soupmaker?s Kitchen, The Magic of Spice Blends and her most recent book, Starting with Ingredients, published in 2020. She is a James Beard Award winner as co-author of Ceviche: Seafood, Salads, and Cocktails with a Latino Twist, a member of the Philadelphia Inquirer?s Culinary Hall of Fame for her uncompromising efforts at working with local farmers, and recipient of the Les Dames d?Escoffier Outstanding in Her Field Award. Most recently, Green founded and directed the catering program at Material Culture. She now leads international small group culinary tours to destinations like Morocco, Israel and Italy and teaches cooking and culinary history.
