We are looking for volunteers specifically for our Ronald McDonald Family Room at Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) in Wilkes Barre. Our Family Room program is very impactful for families who have children receiving care in local hospitals, and the room located in GWV is no exception. This room provides a place of respite and relaxation for families who have children in either the NICU or Pediatric Unit. Families utilizing this room will be offered food and drink along with an area to step away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital environment to recharge for a bit. With a nice kitchenette and sitting area, this room is equipped to offer a quiet haven during a very traumatic time in a parent's life. These rooms require volunteers to keep them open, however! A volunteer's responsibility is ensuring that the room is safe, clean, and stocked for families, while also providing a welcoming presence for all who enter.
