About

Our Social Service programs are offered to individuals who are legally blind or have low vision, which is defined as having a visual acuity of 20/70 or worse in the better eye with best correction or a corresponding field loss. With the goal of improving the quality of one's life and maintaining his/her independence, the Association offers the following services:

•Adjustment to Vision Loss
•Independent Living
•In-Home Support
•Social/Recreation Events
•Children's Programs, including Camp Sight and Transition Assistance

Our Prevention of Blindness programs are offered to people of all ages and demographics. We offer three unique services, which are focused on helping prevent blindness locally:

•Vision Screenings at Child Care Centers, Head Start, Kindergarten Registrations, and Senior Centers
•Eye Health & Safety Education programs
•Marilyn Moore Maslow Vision Resource Center, which specifically helps those who need affordable eye care through eye exams, prescription eyeglasses, and magnifiers.

There is no doubt that someone you know has been touched by the compassion, professionalism, and quality of these services.
