WILKES-BARRE – Visit Luzerne County has announced that, effective November 20, it will begin to sell Luzerne County memorabilia. The initial collection of products includes t-shirts, coffee mugs, tumblers, golf balls and shot glasses. Products can be purchased at the office of Visit Luzerne County, located inside the historic train station in Wilkes-Barre. (200 Old Train Station Road.) There are five choices for t-shirts: Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton, Pittston, Ricketts Glen and White Haven. The coffee mugs and tumblers feature the historic train station and the Visit Luzerne County logo. The shot glasses and golf balls feature the Luzerne County seal.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer these products to our visitors,” said Alan K. Stout, executive director of Visit Luzerne County. “It’s something that both Romilda Crocamo, our county manager, and Jennifer Pecora, the county division head of our department, had suggested. The fact is there aren’t too many places - if any at all - in the entire county where people can buy such things. We feel they’ll be an attractive product for not only people that visit Luzerne County, but also for local residents. And we’re so happy to have them available for purchase in time for the holidays.”
Stout added that eventually, more products will be added.
“We’re looking at baseball hats, and adding t-shirts for other towns and communities, such as Dallas/Back Mountain and Kingston. We serve all of Luzerne County and we strive to serve and represent every corner of the county.”
Visit Luzerne County’s hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday in observance of the holiday. Products can be purchased during regular business hours, card only.
“This is just another great reason for people to stop in to see us at the train station,” said Stout. “Not only do we provide an incredible amount of information on all of the fun things to see and do here in Luzerne County and throughout NEPA, but now, if you’re so inclined, you can also pick up a souvenir.”
