Wilkes graduate, Ray Klimek ‘78 will discuss his exhibition, Carbon. The artist's early work focuses on the industrial landscapes of Pennsylvania and South Wales while more recent pieces employ shifts of scale to suggest landscape imagery buried within everyday objects. Part of the exhibition is CC, which is a series of scans of Carbon Paper blown up magnified and cropped to suggest landscapes in their own right. A fascinating combination of analog and digital photography processes, Klimek depicts one type of technology with the technology that has largely replaced it.
