From the Intern Desk: Lindsay Bezick

Welcome back to our fall blog series, From the Intern Desk! This blog series will continue to feature our current staff members. Our next featured staff member is Lindsay Bezick.
Lindsay is the Chief Operating Officer for the Chamber and has been with the Chamber for three years. A fun fact about Lindsay is that she attended LaSalle University and graduated with a degree in Business with a focus in Marketing and a minor in Communications.
Lindsay’s life at the Chamber began when she followed the encouragement from her former boss, Mr. Genetti, to become more involved in the community. She began helping out at Chamber events since she was a wedding planner at Genettis. There was an open position for the Events and Program Manager at the Chamber. Once Lindsay was in her position, she was promoted to Director of Events, then to Vice President, and now she is new her current position as the Chamber’s Chief Operating Officer.
Question and Answer Time!
I had the opportunity to sit down with Lindsay and learn more about her life and position here at the Chamber of Commerce.
What has been your most positive experience from working here?
“My most positive experience has been the opportunity to work with the staff. I get to see them develop in their roles and they are excelling in them. I love that we all work together and have fun, since we are a great team. The most rewarding thing about the Chamber is that we are lucky to have access to everything happening with businesses and non-profits events. I get to help people, businesses, and the surrounding community. I am extremely lucky to be in a role that allows me to do that.”
Can you summarize your typical work day?
“Every day, I get together with the staff and see what is going on for them that day. I like to be hands on with the team and these meetings give me the opportunity to be more involved with everyone’s projects. When it comes to my email, I like to keep in constant communication with everyone. I make sure to stay on top of all of my email by following through with any member issue or community event.”
What advice would you give a student interested in interning at the Chamber?
“This is a great internship because it goes with any degree. You have access to 700 business members and you will deal with every realm of the business community. This internship exposes you to a variety of businesses around here. We have a variety of events from mixers to our Legislative Breakfast. It is a pretty fun environment and you get to meet leaders in the business community. Attend as much as you can! Make connections when you go to events and meet the heads of companies. Take advantage of it because it is extremely beneficial to all students.”
What are the other staff members like?
“They are my Chamber fam. When I started, everyone was in such a different place. There were some major changes in staff and we all came together because we knew what we wanted to accomplish. The staff is super creative and they are the most hardworking people I have ever worked with. They are not afraid to do new things. The staff is so great and they learned to trust us when it comes to new ideas because most of the things we try are successful. It truly keeps me motivated.”
What has been your biggest take-away(s) from working here?
“I wouldn’t think that I would be at the role that I am here at the Chamber. I didn’t know everything about this role, but I worked hard at doing it. My work ethic allowed me to get here and having a team where we can work together seamlessly is the best thing to ask for.”
What do you love the most about working here at the Chamber?
“I have an amazing team and I have access to this amazing community. I get to be a part of all of it. I live here and so does my family, so I want the community to grow. The Chamber also highlights the future of our area’s leadership. Any influence I can have in growth is the coolest thing to me.”
