(Intern)al Affairs - Meet the Author

Hi everyone!

My name is Tyler Bonita and I’m the Social Media and Marketing summer intern at the Chamber. I’ll be writing this blog series throughout my internship to highlight a day in the life of an intern here at the Chamber. You’ll get to see some of the awesome events and activities I’ll get to take part in and meet some of the other interns that I am working with for the summer. For now, let me introduce myself a little bit better.

I attended the University of Delaware (go Blue Hens!), where I received a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and I’m currently working on my second degree in Communications at Thomas Jefferson University. I’ve lived in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area my whole life, but I’ll be moving to Philadelphia in the fall. I need a change of scenery and what better place than the city I fell in love with?

When I’m not at the Chamber, I am either serving at Miller’s Ale House or reporting on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders for Double G Sports. I'm also the Social Media Director for my Family's Foundation, Little Eric's Foundation. As you can probably tell, I lead a pretty busy life, but I love every second of it.

Believe it or not, sometimes I do have free time. When that happens, I’m usually at a sporting event. I am a die hard Flyers fan and at this point the Wells Fargo Center has basically become my second home during hockey season. I also love the Toronto Maple Leafs (I know what you're thinking: how can someone love two hockey teams? It's pretty easy, actually, when you love the game.), the New York Yankees, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia 76ers. In that off time where none of my teams are playing, I also love to exercise, draw and paint and explore the outdoors.

I‘m graduating this spring and after graduation I’m hoping to find a job doing social media or public relations for a company. I would love to merge my two degrees together by working for a zoo or in wildlife policy. I’m also planning to continue reporting for Double G Sports, which is something that I genuinely enjoy doing as well.

So that’s basically all about me! I’m excited to write about everything this internship entails and all of the great experiences that come with it.

Stick around, this is going to be a fun summer.
