Introducing Lasha Wyman-Klein, our 2025 Community Resilience Award recipient!
Lasha Wyman-Klein is a force for transformational change in Northeastern Pennsylvania. A passionate advocate for those experiencing homelessness and systemic inequities, Lasha has spent her career designing innovative programs, building community partnerships, and driving systems-level solutions to address poverty, housing insecurity, and workforce development.
She currently serves as a Care Coordinator at The Ryan White Clinic, where she provides compassionate support and services to individuals living with HIV. Her work bridges medical care, case management, and advocacy to ensure equitable access to health and wellness for those often overlooked.
Lasha serves on the Board of Directors at the NEPA Youth Shelter, where she also leads as Chair of the Fundraising Committee. She is a former Program Director at Keystone Mission, where she played a pivotal role in expanding opportunities for the region’s most vulnerable populations. Her efforts led to the creation of life-changing programs such as Pathfinders, a vocational training and scholarship initiative; Go Green, a community beautification and work-readiness program; and Seeds of Hope, one of the region’s first community gardens built on a shelter property to combat hunger and cultivate fellowship.
Lasha is widely known for her relentless pursuit of equity and dignity for all. Her advocacy was instrumental in securing access to clean water and showers for the homeless population in Scranton, and she partnered with the Community Justice Project to halt illegal search and seizure practices targeting homeless encampments. Her community impact has been recognized through awards from the NAACP and Pennsylvania State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies.
In 2025, Lasha began her Master of Public Administration at Purdue, further cementing her commitment to policy change and systemic reform. Beyond local initiatives, she is deeply engaged in shaping statewide conversations on youth services, housing equity, and trauma-informed care.
Her work has also extended into mentorship and youth empowerment, regularly speaking at events such as the Ava’s Way Foundation and collaborating with organizations like Lasagna Love to provide nourishment and hope to underserved communities.
A Scranton native now living in Pittston, Lasha is driven by faith, purpose, and a vision for a more compassionate world. Her resilience, creativity, and heart for service continue to ripple across Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties, and beyond.
Make sure to join us to celebrate with her and all our award recipients on Friday, July 11th at our first ever STARS of the Valley Awards at the Westmoreland Club’s Grand Hall!
