Meet Chamber Ambassador Kelly Kostanesky!
We sat down virtually with Chamber Ambassador Kelly Kostanesky, Owner of KMMK Communications, in this month's Chamber Ambassador Spotlight!
A little bit about Kelly: Kelly is a former sports journalist, and lives and dies for her Duke University men's basketball team and the Buffalo Bills. She adores her lovable (but very opinionated) dachshund, Bruty!
Read the full Q&A with Kelly below to learn even more about her!
Q: What do you do in your current professional role, and what is your favorite thing about your job?
A: I run my own public relations, marketing and communications agency that focuses on helping businesses and nonprofit organizations build a relationship with their customers and donors. My favorite thing about working in PR is being able to give a voice to a business or nonprofit and craft a message that helps them explain who they are, what they do and how it helps others.
Q: What causes/organizations are you involved with in the community?
A: I am a passionate and dedicated volunteer for Boost Business NEPA, the American Cancer Society and Good Shepherd Church in Drums.
Q: What is your favorite thing about the Wyoming Valley and how do you like to spend your spare time?
A: My favorite thing about the Wyoming Valley is the sense of community and connection. As we saw within this last year, when times were tough, there was never a hesitation from the community to jump in and help when and where it was needed. I also admire the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that is so alive in the region and how passionate people are about the work they do.
Q: Why did you choose to get involved in the Chamber Ambassador Council and what are you most looking forward to?
A: I chose to get involved with the Chamber Ambassador Council because I have a passion for helping businesses and I love connecting with new people. The Chamber staff is so incredible in the work they do every day and I was inspired to join the Ambassador Council and help further that mission.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about being a part of the Council?
A: I'm looking forward to working with the other Council members to continue to find new ways to help support all the businesses in the Wyoming Valley and help them rebound from the pandemic and grow their businesses. There are so many talented and intelligent members on the Council and it inspires me just getting to interact with them and know we are committed to a purpose that is bigger than ourselves.
