Meet one of this year's Pride of Place award recipients, Building Blocks Learning Center!

Building Blocks Learning Center was founded with a belief that strong communities begin with strong foundations for children. What started as a commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education has grown into an organization serving more than 1,000 families across Luzerne County, Lackawanna County, and the Lehigh Valley, supported by more than 200 dedicated employees. Through early childhood education, school-age programming, and meaningful community partnerships, our mission extends beyond the classroom. They strive to create places where children are inspired to learn, families feel supported, educators can build meaningful careers, and communities are strengthened for generations.

Their expansion into Scranton reflects that mission and their belief in this community's future. In partnership with the Basalyga Group, they had the opportunity to bring a new vision for early childhood education to life in downtown Scranton, creating a space designed not only for today’s families, but for the future of the city. They developed their learning environments in partnership with Community Playthings, and their educators bring them to life each day through Frog Street’s research-based curriculum. They are incredibly proud to call Scranton home and deeply honored to receive the Pride of Place Award. To Building Blocks Learning Center, pride of place means more than investing in a building; it means investing in the people who shape a community’s future. For Building Blocks, that begins with their children.

Join us on Thursday, November 12th at Mohegan Pennsylvania for an evening of connection and to celebrate with our award recipients! Register on our events page here.
