Meet our 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient: Christopher Borton

Christopher Borton established Borton Engineering Associates, Inc. in 1988 to provide general civil engineering services in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. In 1992, the firm became Borton-Lawson, after Thomas Lawson joined Borton to expand the firm’s service offerings. Mr. Borton’s original vision centered on leveraging technology to create a firm that was both successful and sustainable. Under his leadership, Borton-Lawson has grown into a nationally recognized engineering/architecture firm that employs more than 160 professionals in offices throughout Pennsylvania.
 
Mr. Borton has given back to his community by serving on committees and boards for several organizations including the United Way, Wyoming Rotary Club, Penn State Wilkes-Barre, the Holy Name/St. Mary’s Church, and Misericordia University. Earlier this year, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA) honored Mr. Borton with the Distinguished Award of Merit. The award honored him for his continuous excellence in the engineering consulting industry and his unwavering commitment to community service. The Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s (JA of NEPA) also inducted Mr. Borton into the Business Hall of Fame in June.
