Meet Our 2020 Emerging Business of the Year: American Paper Bag
Our 2020 Emerging Business of the Year, American Paper Bag, took an entrepreneurial dream and chose to make it a reality in NEPA. In the past four years, American Paper Bag launched as an industry disrupting paper bag manufacturing plant, and has since become the premier U.S. based paper bag manufacturer - all from the Hanover Industrial Park.
American Paper Bag exists to bring packaging into the 21st century by offering faster, more efficient production with a better variety of customizable options. Having their factories in the USA means more jobs, protection of intellectual property, less carbon emissions, and guaranteed ethical sourcing. With customers that include Amazon, Hershey’s, OTG and Eataly, American Paper Bag is quickly becoming the premier U.S. based paper bag manufacturer by producing a fully customizable, more environmentally acceptable ("greener") paper bag that reduces operational costs while offering design features no other US manufacturer can offer.
In 2016, Founder Ian Robson came to North America visiting locations in Canada and across the United States, and chose NEPA as the home of American Paper Bag. In four years, APB has expanded its operation and now employs 32 people with plans to continue to aggressively grow in 2021. American Paper Bag now occupies 42,000 sq. ft. in their building in the Hanover Industrial Park and recently made the transition to a 24/7 production schedule.
