Meet Our 2021 Diversity Champion Business of the Year Award Recipient: NEPA's 1st Annual Black Owned Business Expo!
Our 2021 Diversity Champion Business of the Year Award recipient, NEPA's 1st Annual Black Owned Business Expo, was a much-needed event that happened in our community, and was led by Janiece Montes, CEO of Janieces Purse Collection, Co-owner at Social Le’Air, and Organizer and Hostess of NEPA’s 1st Annual Black Owned Business Expo and Brock Vieney, CEO of Brocks Fresh Breads and the Co-host of NEPA’s 1st Annual Black Owned Business Expo.
This event gives black and brown businesses the opportunity to showcase their business excellence, and an opportunity to present to the community their brand names, products they hand make, and the services they provide. Business owners also have the opportunity to network with the public as well as amongst each other. It also gives the general public an opportunity to see the black and brown owned businesses within the community they don’t normally get to. This event helps make the connections needed for these businesses to succeed in the community. The goal of the organizers was to make the statement that we are here too. This event has helped open the doors needed for so many unseen and unheard of black and brown owned businesses. The organizers believe that it’s important to highlight our black and brown owned businesses within our communities and their goal is to give every black and brown owned business in NEPA a chance to be seen, to be heard, to be recognized, and to be supported by our community. "These communities aren’t thriving, and we want to change that. We want to be apart of making our communities a better place. A place we can all come together to work and grow. That is our goal hosting the NEPA Annual Black Owned Business Expo every year," says Janiece.
