Meet the 2017 Young Professional of Year Award Nominees: Chris Bohinski
While pursuing his love of the arts, Chris has appeared on NBC's The Today Show while ultimately winning their "Look What I Can Do" competition, showcasing his ability to break a wine glass with his unaided singing voice, appeared in the New York Post newspaper while ultimately winning their "Diet Challenge" contest, and his YouTube channel has over 1,000,000 views. Along with emceeing black-tie events and galas, Chris has had the distinct honor of singing our National Anthem for high-profile events such as MLB's Pittsburgh Pirates and on the presidential campaign trail for Senator John McCain. Boh the Smile Guy (Chris) created and moderates the smile mission NYC Smile 4 Me, where interviews are based around the question "What makes you smile?" Recent red carpet interviewees have included Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Beyoncé, and Bette Midler.
Some recent notable achievements of his have been speaking roles on National Geographic's "Breakthrough Series" and Discovery Science's "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" and being a published photographer in collegiate-level textbooks. Most recently life has brought Chris back to the Wyoming Valley and is employed by the Special Guest app, created by Kris Jones & Damon Wayans Jr, where he works as a talent acquisition specialist and hosts an online interview series with their clients.
Q: What does being a business or community leader mean to you?
A: I am grateful to have a platform that inspires kindness and basic human compassion throughout northeastern Pennsylvania & am humbled to be considered a leader in the Wyoming Valley.
Q: What advice would you give to young professionals in Greater Wilkes-Barre who want to have a positive impact on the community?
A: All smiles are beautifully unique, so embrace that; let your smile spread happiness, positivity, and joy!
