Meet the 2017 Young Professional of Year Award Nominees: Holly K. Pilcavage

On any given week, you can find Holly participating in various community activities and organizations. In an effort to stay closely-knitted to the higher education realm, she supervisors the CoalCreative internship program, graciously accepts each opportunity to speak within class lectures and loves to have students visit on-site at her locations of employment. Holly is also a member of the Leadership Wilkes Barre Class of 2018 and cannot wait to begin! It is Holly's personal mantra to leave people, places and things better than she found them which is what motivates her to follow her passions and choose a positive attitude at the start of each day.
Q: What does being a business or community leader mean to you?
A: To me, being a business and community leader means waking up every day and making the choice to leave the people, places and things around me better than I found them. It means being intentional and passionate with every decision I make and every action I put forth.
Q: What advice would you give to young professionals in Greater Wilkes-Barre who want to have a positive impact on the community?
A: Take the time to discover your "why" and actively pursue it. Recognize that every interaction you have causes a ripple effect that will go far and wide, so always make the effort to be positive. Also, when giving up feels like your only option left - don't.
