?Pennsylvania American Water has made its commitment to inclusion and diversity a company-wide priority. With an Inclusion & Diversity Advisory Council that is supported by senior leadership and engages over 60 diverse employee’s company-wide, Pennsylvania American Water has focused its efforts on supporting engagement, training, communications, workforce & succession diversity, and supplier diversity. Employees have taken part in discussions and shared personal stories on videos about why they are beautifully different, which have been shared both internally and externally. They have also participated in company-wide livestream conversations and videos about emotional safety and the criticality of being able to bring your “whole self” to work.  Pennsylvania American Water has held Respect and Dignity in the Workplace and Harassment-free Workplace trainings, and has also updated its Military Transition Guide, which is aimed at supporting veterans as they transition from military to civilian life. Furthermore, the company has been a recognized Military Spouse Employment Partner since 2018 and has earned the 2020 Military Friendly® Gold Employer designation. In 2020, they will launch unconscious bias training to continue the company’s policy for respect and care for all employees.
