Meet the 2021 Category Finalists for Young Professional Cultural Ambassador of the Year!

Brandi George, President of Gaslight Theatre Company

After graduating from King’s College with a double major in theatre and mass communications, Brandi blended her passions by working professionally in concert promotion, marketing, and communications and joined Gaslight’s Board of Directors, lending her skills in event planning, graphic design, marketing, directing, and acting. Now in her fourth term as President, she is honored to have shaped a new era for such a unique company. She is proud to collaborate with an unbelievably creative group of individuals and is driven by Gaslight’s educational mission and desire to innovate. She is most rewarded by collaborating with community organizations on projects that introduce theatre to new audiences and awaken an undiscovered love of the arts. Brandi received her master’s in communications from Marywood University and currently works as Marketing Manager for the national architecture firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. She is a part-time faculty member at King’s College where she directs for the theatre department and teaches Arts Appreciation.


Conor Kelly O'Brien, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Scranton Fringe Festival


Conor is an actor, theatre-maker, educator, and all-around creative for hire! He has performed on stages across the country (and the UK), Off-Broadway, and within a few small TV roles. He is the Co-founder and Executive Director of the Scranton Fringe Festival as well as a proud member of the New Vintage Ensemble and the Dramatist Guild of America.

Joell Yarmel, Director of Development at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts

Joell Yarmel is the Director of Development at the F.M. Kirby Center. She is a champion for the cultural arts and successfully solicited support during the Kirby Center’s most challenging time when their stage was dark due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Joell also supports our community outside of the theater by serving on the Board of Directors at the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is a graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre.
