Meet the Category Finalists for Young Professional STEAM Professional of the Year!

Jeffrey Chiampi, Assistant Teaching Professor of Engineering at Penn State Wilkes-Barre

Jeffrey Chiampi lives and works in the Back Mountain where he is fortunate enough to teach Programming and Game Development at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. As a faculty member at Penn State he gets to work on all sorts of outreach projects, the most recent taught computer science skills to K-12 students. He has been interested in coding and video games since he was a teen and he says that he can’t imagine a better job.

Thomas Meluskey, Property Management Accounting at Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services

Thomas Meluskey, Jr. is a Wilkes-Barre native and proud King’s College Alumni from the Class of 2012. Tom doubled majored in Accounting and Business Administration from The William G. McGowan School of Business. Following his graduation with high honors, Tom was offered an Audit position at Campbell Soup Company in Camden, NJ. With this auditing role, Tom traveled the world to different Campbell’s Soup locations in Australia, California, South Carolina, among others, where he audited multiple forms of operations. Tom then went on to work for Liberty Property Trust in Malvern, PA where he was a senior property & construction accountant for commercial real estate buildings. His portfolio included the Comcast Tower in Philadelphia, the Navy Yard in Philadelphia, and multiple other portfolios nationwide. In 2017, Tom accepted a position with Mericle Commercial Real Estate in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where today he continues to work in his area of expertise – commercial real estate accounting. Tom is an avid community supporter, serving on the King’s College Alumni Board, Lackenmier Planning Committee, and as a mentor for the McGowan School of Business Annual Forum. He also volunteers his time with multiple, local non-profit organizations. Tom currently resides in Kingston, PA with his wife Christine. 

Kimmy Nguyen, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Wilkes University

Kimmy Nguyen graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 2016 before completing post-graduate training in PA and NY. She is now an assistant professor at Wilkes University, Nesbitt School of Pharmacy and a clinical pharmacy specialist at Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), a free non-profit clinic that serves the working uninsured population of Luzerne County. She works closely with patients from all different backgrounds to treat and manage chronic conditions, like asthma and diabetes, through the creation of personalized care plans that place the patient and their preferences first.
