MEET THE INTERN – GAETANO BUONSANTE

One of the interns that I have the opportunity to work alongside every time I come to the office is Gaetano Buonsante. He is a proud native of the area and is looking forward to creating a political career for himself upon graduation. Thank you to Gaetano for sitting down with me!

Q.What is your name? Where did you attend college and what is your major?
A: My name is Gaetano Buonsante and I attend Misericordia University studying Government Law & National Security. It’s basically Global Science!

Q. What do you like to do in your spare time? (other interesting facts)
A. When I DO have time to myself, I enjoy playing video games, spending time with friends, and watching Netflix. I recently finished the entire series of The Office.

Q. Do you have another job? Are you involved in any other organizations?
A. I am the coach of the Holy Redeemer High School Debate Team, President of Misericordia University’s History Club, a member of my college major’s club, and works at my Dad’s pizza shop.

For those of you wondering, his Dad is the proud owner of Dino’s Pizza!

Q. What brought you to the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce?
A. When looking for an internship I narrowed my search to organizations that have strong feelings towards the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area like I do. I like how the chamber loved the area as much as I do.

Q. What does a typical day look like for you at the Chamber?
A. I log onto my computer and starts working on any unfinished projects from the last day I was in the office. When this work is finished, I go to my advisor for guidance on what to complete next. I work hand in hand with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs webpage.

Q. One word to describe your experience?
A. “Friendly.”

Q. What are your goals after graduation?
A. Upon graduation, I want to find a job for him that involves policy and analysis. I want a job that will help the area thrive.

Q. Any tips for others who might be thinking about the internship?
A. The work environment the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce is so friendly. I would say that students interested in the interning position shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions and take advantage of the Chamber’s events.
