The Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with United Way of Wyoming Valley will host the Third Annual Young Professionals Conference presented by UGI Utilities, Inc. This day-long conference is a day of thought provoking, interactive professional development for our area's talented professionals ages 20-45. This year, with the safety of everyone in mind for all, we are hosting our conference virtually.
The theme of this year's conference is "Together Towards Tomorrow" and will feature two tracks with topics covering, Leadership Development, Wellness, Goal Setting, and Personal Finance. There will be frequent breaks throughout the day with interactive sessions such as Guided Meditation, Sitting Yoga, and more! Our day will conclude with our electrifying keynote speaker, Dr. Lauren Hazzouri, and a networking session. Attendees will also receive a Virtual Swag Bag with gift cards for local restaurants and more!

About Our Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Lauren Hazzouri is a Scranton native. She grew up in the Hill Section, went to elementary and middle school in Green Ridge and graduated from Scranton Prep. She completed her undergraduate work at Penn State, Main Campus, where she was an Evan Pugh Scholar and graduated Phi Beta Kap-pa. Upon graduation, she returned home, where she received her Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Psychology from Marywood University.

Dr. Lauren is a licensed psychologist and the founder of Hazzouri Psychology, a full-service psychology practice in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She treats a wide range of mental health concerns and helps clients across the full spectrum from ill-being to well-being. Over the past decade, she’s developed her signature method, drawing from the most effective elements of western psychology and eastern philosophy.

Dr. Lauren is a passionate public speaker. She’s been speaking on topics like Self-Esteem, Anxiety, Body-Image and Mood locally since 2008 and has been empowering women to stand up for themselves and one another at events across the country and internationally since 2015. Dr. Lauren was named one of the top five women in the world inspiring girls by German Glamour and her work has appeared in Teen Vogue, Forbes and British Vogue.

Dr. Lauren provides evidence-based education for Gen-Z girls and young women on her website, Since 2017, she’s been hosting annual workshops for teen girls and their parents free-of-charge and open to the community in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Her workshops aim to increase attendees' insight, acceptance, empathy and sense of belonging. Workshop topics include M.A.D. (Mood, Anxiety and Depression), Self and Society, Managing Social Media in a Healthy Way, Relationships with Self and Others and The Difference Between Confidence and Self-esteem.

In 2019, Dr. Lauren launched a free Wellness Club for high school girls in Scranton. The Club runs for six consecutive weeks twice a year (pre and post Covid) and is held at local businesses committed to empowering women. The Club is a fun extracurricular outlet for girls to practice healthy coping in community through conversation, music, art, and dance.
She’s contributed to a number of online publications, including Thrive Global. She’s partnered with many of the most reputable female-focused platforms and brands, such as Tresemme, Gurls Talk, Girl-boss, Beautycon, Hey Mama, and Her Campus to name a few. Most recently, Dr. Lauren provided her expertise and feedback to the development of an app, launching mid- 2021 that supports the well-being of girls and women and helps them make small daily behavioral changes to live better lives.

Dr. Lauren was named one of the Top 25 Women in Business by the CNG Newspaper Group. She has received multiple awards and honors for her work, including The Psychology in the Media Award from The Pennsylvania Psychological Association. She is an active member of The Pennsylvania Psychological Association and The American Psychological Association.
