Assistant Cook
Job description
DUTIES
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and menu plans
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner
- Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain quality and freshness
- Collaborate with the Dietary department to ensure meals are prepared on time and meet dietary restrictions
- Assist with menu planning
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for necessary ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
REQUIREMENTS
-SERV Safe preferred not required
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar setting
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and special diets
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment, such as knives, mixers, and ovens, slicers etc.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects. Candidates must also have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and every other holiday.
