Job Title:  Senior Accountant

Job Description:

American Asphalt Paving Co., a local site and road construction company located in Shavertown, PA, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger and preparing related monthly financial statements.  You will also participate in cash management, general ledger account reconciliations, as well as other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial reports and analyses
• Maintain general ledger
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies
• Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Assist with year-end financial audits
• Prepare and file annual and quarterly payroll tax returns
• Assistance with cash management as well as related bank reconciliation preparation
• Participate in inventory management and valuation processes
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of related experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency as well as other accounting software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
