Johnson College to Celebrate Grand Opening of Transportation Technology Center, Expanding Workforce Training in Northeastern Pennsylvania
WHEN: Thursday, October 29, 2026, program starts at 11 a.m.
WHERE: Johnson College Transportation Technology Center
814 Wyoming Ave, Scranton, PA 18509
DETAILS: Johnson College will host a grand opening and press conference celebrating its newly renovated Transportation Technology Center in Scranton.
The College purchased and renovated the existing 8,700-square-foot building, transforming a property in a neighborhood historically connected to the automotive industry into a hands-on training facility for students in its Diesel Preventative Maintenance Technology, Diesel Truck Technology, and Automotive Technology programs.
The center represents an investment in the region's workforce and economy. By preparing skilled technicians to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment used in transportation, construction, agriculture, and other industries, Johnson College is helping regional employers meet their workforce needs and keep businesses and the local economy moving.
The official program begins at 11 a.m., with light fare available afterward.
