(Dallas, PA/release date) – Metz Culinary Management, Inc. (Metz) announces that it has raised $81,923.12 to benefit local charity Dinners for Kids. The money was raised through the 8th Annual Ruth’s Chris Golf Classic held September 23rd at the Huntsville Golf Club in Dallas, PA.

Since 2011, Dinners for Kids, an all-volunteer organization, has provided healthy meals to thousands of food-insecure children in Luzerne County, PA. Three days a week, the organization creates and delivers six balanced meals to children who otherwise would not receive the nutrition they need to learn and grow.

In 2016, Metz joined Dinners for Kids in their effort to impact food insecurity locally. Through the Ruth’s Chris Golf Classic, Metz has brought in over $435K for the local charity, with proceeds increasing year-over-year.

Sixty sponsors from the local community along with Metz vendors supported the event, which attracted more than 120 golfers. One of the event’s generous sponsors is Kegel’s Produce, which provides the Dinners for Kids program with healthy, fresh, whole fruit year-round at no cost to the program.

“The Ruth’s Chris Golf Classic is an opportunity for us at Metz to be the change we want to see in the world,” said Jeff Metz, President and CEO of Metz Culinary Management. “By raising funds every year for Dinners for Kids, we are truly making an impact in the community we serve, and that is really meaningful for the Metz team.”

Dinners for Kids depends solely on donations and grants. All monies donated to the program are used to cover the direct costs of preparing meals. As an entirely volunteer organization, Dinners for Kids has no paid staff and no facility expenses. Funds raised by the Golf Classic represent 30% of the charity’s operating budget.
