WHAT:
Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza, managed by Legends Global, is delighted to invite the community to its 20th annual Toys for Tots Open Skate event on Wednesday, December 3. This special event offers a unique opportunity for the public to skate on the arena's American Hockey League regulation ice while supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.

All media are invited to attend the event. Please report to the East Gate Entrance of Mohegan Arena between 5:45PM and 7:30PM. Interview opportunities will be available with the U.S. Marines Corps Reserves and guests in attendance.
DETAILS FOR GUESTS:
Admission: Bring a new, unwrapped toy or make a $5.00 contribution to Toys for Tots.
What to Bring: Skaters must provide their own skates. Rentals are available at Toyota SportsPlex (Community Ice Rink) on Coal St. for $4 per pair. Visit toyotasportsplex.com for more details.
Refreshments: Light snacks and drinks will be available for purchase, with partial proceeds benefiting Toys for Tots.
Prizes: Attendees have the chance to win tickets to upcoming Mohegan Arena events, along with prizes courtesy of partner organizations.
WHY:
This cherished annual tradition combines the joy of ice skating with the spirit of giving, benefiting local children in need through the Toys for Tots program. This annual Open Skate is the only day each year that Mohegan Arena, home of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, opens its ice to the public. Children are encouraged to share in the gift of giving by bringing along a new, unwrapped toy to contribute to the arena’s Toys for Tots collection.
“This event continues to inspire compassion and generosity while giving families the rare opportunity to skate on the same ice as their favorite Penguins,” said Justin Topa, Director of Marketing and Community Engagement at the Mohegan Arena. “It’s a meaningful tradition that brings our community together and helps support local children who need it most.”
