Our Commitment to Excellence

The Scranton Area Community Foundation is proud to share that we have been re-accredited under the Community Foundations National Standards®, a national designation that recognizes the highest levels of transparency, accountability, ethical practice, and financial stewardship in philanthropy.

This re-accreditation affirms what our donors, partners, and community have trusted for decades: when you give through the Scranton Area Community Foundation, your charitable dollars are managed with care, integrity, and long-term vision.

Community Foundations National Standards accreditation is a rigorous process. It requires foundations to document and demonstrate best practices across all areas of operation—including donor services, investment management, grantmaking, governance, and administration. Our policies and practices were reviewed by independent experts appointed by the National Standards Board, a supporting organization of the Council on Foundations in Washington, D.C.

We are especially proud to share that 90 cents of every dollar at the Foundation goes directly to grants, scholarships, and programs serving our region.

The Scranton Area Community Foundation has been accredited with National Standards since 2007, and this re-accreditation reflects our continued commitment to being a proven, trusted place to give—today and for generations to come.
