Tinnitus Support Group to host March 6 meeting featuring mindfulness and lifestyle medicine expert
The Tinnitus Support Group of Northeast Pennsylvania will meet Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m. at The Wright Center for Community Health Mid Valley, 5 S. Washington Ave., Jermyn. A virtual attendance option will be available for those unable to participate in person.
The support group welcomes individuals living with tinnitus, their family members and friends, and anyone interested in learning more about this complex audiological and neurological condition. Participants can connect with others who share similar experiences, exchange practical coping strategies, and find encouragement in a compassionate, confidential setting.
At the March meeting, featured presenter Lisa Rigau, RN, will discuss how mindfulness and lifestyle medicine can help manage stress and enhance overall well-being. Rigau is a registered nurse, nutrition counselor, and community educator who specializes in health, wellness, mindfulness, and nutrition.
As the owner of Healthy Lifestyle Management, she provides private and group nutrition counseling, mindfulness-based stress management training, and education on the six pillars of lifestyle medicine: plant-predominant nutrition, physical activity, stress management, restorative sleep, positive social connections, and avoidance of risky substances.
Rigau is a certified mindfulness teacher in mindfulness-based stress reduction through the Mindfulness Center at Brown University. She is also a certified mindful eating–conscious living teacher and mentor through the University of California San Diego, having trained directly with the program’s founders.
Rigau earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware and her master’s degree in sports nutrition and exercise science from Marywood University. She is a diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and a certified lifestyle medicine professional.
