Meet Our 2023 Pride of Place Award Recipients: Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing and D&D Realty

Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing

Allied Services has invested over $10 million in remodeling Center City Skilled Nursing for the comfort and safety of patients, residents, staff, and visitors. At a time when nursing homes nationwide are reducing capacity, Allied Services has added beds at this 5-star facility for the benefit of the Wyoming Valley community. The facility was named a 2022 US News & World Report Best Nursing Home.

You'll find quality, compassionate short-term rehab and long-term care at Center City Skilled Nursing in downtown Wilkes-Barre. Center City Skilled Nursing now boasts all new private rooms, private dining for families, relaxed and restaurant-style dining, an updated therapy gym, and skyline views, all served by an award-winning care team. Their care teams are dedicated to helping patients and residents achieve the best recovery and quality of life. Their services include: long-term care to meet long-term residents' changing physical, emotional, and social needs; short-term rehab with intensive nursing and therapy services to support the goal of returning home; short-term pulmonary rehab; nursing services including restorative nursing, wound care, dementia nursing, and rehab nursing; dietary, social services, recreational therapy, and other services to support residents' needs.

D&D Realty

D&D Realty Group develops distressed properties into Class A assets throughout NEPA. With a concentration on mixed-use development, D&D has developed nearly 400 luxury apartments in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties. Six of those projects have been historic preservation projects, demonstrating D&D’s commitment to preserving NEPA architecture while breathing new life into their buildings.

D&D would like to thank everyone who worked on our projects. These projects require hundreds of people from different disciplines all working together, and the project’s success is a testament to the group. Special thanks to Wilkes University for being a great partner on this project, and especially Mike Wood. Without Mike and his team, the project never happens, and we’re proud to call them our teammates in Downtown Wilkes-Barre.

Make sure to join us for our Chamber Annual Dinner on November 16th to celebrate them and the rest of our honorees that night! Click here to register today!
