Description
Legislation Education & Advocacy Day (LEAD) 2023
Thursday, October 5th, 2023
Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) is an exciting event that gives attendees an opportunity to learn about advocacy on the local and state level. Presented in partnership with our regional Chambers, LEAD is designed to further attendees knowledge of the legislative process, grassroots advocacy, and major current statewide and national policy initiatives. This event provides attendees with tools and resources to build their advocacy toolbelt and meet their legislators/representatives to discuss topics that are important to them and the communities they serve. Attendees hear from an array of passionate speakers from elected officials, the government sector, community organizers, and advocates.
The Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Council advocates for local businesses in legislation by reviewing legislation at the local, state, and national levels and recommending both policy and formal positions on these issues to the Chamber of Commerce Board.
The Government Affairs Council also conducts an Annual Legislative Survey and hosts the Annual Legislative Breakfast, as well as a variety of forums and educational activities on pertinent issues. Want to stay updated on what this council is doing? Click HERE to sign up for news and communications!
