Jasmine Giddings
About
Jasmine Giddings was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on April 13, 1990, and proudly considers herself a Wilkes-Barrian. She attended local schools, including Kistler Elementary and Meyers High School. After graduating, Jasmine continued her education at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, where she majored in Psychology with minors in Education and Music, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in 2013. She later received her certification in Liturgical Dance in February 2023.
Following graduation, Jasmine returned to Wilkes-Barre and began her professional journey at King’s College in Residence Life, where she served for 2 years. She then transitioned into her current role as the Multicultural Director, a position she has held for 11 years. In this role, she was recognized by the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce in their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Business Leader Highlight. Jasmine also serves as the Widmann Gallery Coordinator, where she connects local Wyoming Valley artists with opportunities to showcase their work. Additionally, she made history as the first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair at King’s College, serving in that role for two years.
Jasmine’s impact extends well beyond her professional work. She is the choreographer and director of the Abundant Praise Dance Ministry at Mount Zion Baptist Church, leading Praise Dance, Mime, and Step Team. She is also actively involved in the Mass Choir, where she sings and directs. Her dedication has been recognized through several honors, including the Mt. Zion Leadership Award and the King’s College Staff Council Award. Jasmine has also served as a host for the Wilkes-Barre Multicultural Parade for two consecutive years.
