About

Cathy O’Donnell is a dedicated attorney, community leader, and business manager at O’Donnell Law Offi ces, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2025. A longtime practicing lawyer in Pennsylvania, she is also a member of the DC Bar and a former District Justice. She earned her undergraduate degree, Juris Doctorate, and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating cum laude with each.

In 2026, Cathy was once again recognized by Super Lawyers, earning a place among the Top 50: Women Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for the fifth year and the Top 100: Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for the second year. These peer-voted honors reflect her continued excellence in the legal profession and dedication to her clients. Cathy remains actively engaged with her alma mater and currently serves as a Governor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Alumni Association, helping to promote mentorship, connection, and continued excellence within the legal profession.

Beyond the courtroom, Cathy is a passionate advocate for education, social justice, and community service, serving on several boards throughout her career. She is the immediate past chair of the Luzerne County Community College Board and an Emeritus Board Member of the Luzerne County Bar Charitable Foundation Board. She is also a former President of the Wilkes-Barre Law & Library Association, former Assistant Secretary of the Friedman Jewish Community Center Board, past board member of the United Way of Wyoming Valley, and a board member of the North Branch Land Trust, Junior Leadership Northeast, and Luzerne County Dress for Success. Cathy currently serves as a member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Disciplinary Board.

In 2023, Leadership Northeast honored her dedication to the community with the Distinguished Alumni Award. That same year, she received the Community Service Award from the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the President’s Award from the Friedman JCC. In 2025, Cathy was also honored with the Community Service Award at the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce’s STARS of the Valley Awards, recognizing her continued commitment to service and leadership throughout the region.

At home, Cathy and her husband, Neil, recently celebrated 37 years of marriage. She cherishes time with their adult children, Neil and Renata, daughter-in-law Mehak, and grandson, Adam.
