Meet this year's Emerging Business Award recipient, Friedman Hospitality Group!
Friedman Hospitality Group, owned by local entrepreneur Rob Friedman, has grown over the years into a collection of some of NEPA’s premier restaurants and event venues.
After selling and retiring from Friedman Electric in 2010, Rob decided to enjoy a slower paced life and worked at Friedman Farms brush hogging the acres of fields. After about 2 weeks of brush hogging, he realized he needed a new challenge. In 2012, Rob purchased The Beaumont Inn and continued to grow. Friedman Hospitality Group now includes 9 restaurants, 4 wedding venues, and a live music venue, each with their own personality and flare, including: Bank & Vine, The Beaumont Inn, Cork, Fire & Ice, The Greens at Irem Clubhouse, Grico’s, Kevin’s, Rikasa, the River Street Jazz Café, and the 16th Ward. This makes for a diverse lineup of offerings for all sorts of occasions, all while providing the quality that has come to be known with the Friedman name.
When not busy at work, their team is always sure to take some time to give back to the community, and has been involved in events and nonprofits such as the Pittston Tomato Festival, Scranton’s La Festa Italiana, Fork Over Love, Friends of the Hoyt Library, the Friedman JCC Pauly Friedman 5k, the Weinberg Food Bank, and the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association. They consistently do charity dinners, volunteer their time, and are always looking for more opportunities for community engagement and to support everyone in the best way they can.
With their vision, the Friedman Hospitality Group has become a staple in Northeastern Pennsylvania and has revitalized our region’s restaurant scene into a hub of fine dining and entertainment.
